This class is ideal for beginners curious about working on the torch and those looking to expand their glassmaking skills into flameworking.

What to bring

A water bottle and your enthusiasm!
Light, breathable layers - it gets warm on the torch!
Fully enclosed shoes and clothing made from natural fibres (denim, wool, cotton, linen).
Long hair must be tied back.
There will be a lunch break each day. You’re welcome to bring your own lunch or explore local options nearby.

All tools, materials, and safety equipment will be provided.

What you'll make

You’ll create a botanical-inspired glass lightcatcher, exploring organic forms such as leaves, stems, or petals. The focus is on learning core flameworking techniques rather than a polished finish, so each piece will reflect your individual progress and experimentation.

Please note: Due to the nature of working with glass, some pieces may crack or break during the annealing process. While we do our best to help you succeed, we can’t guarantee that every object will be safe to take home.

Collecting your work

Finished pieces will be ready for collection 48 hours after the workshop, during our opening hours from Wednesday to Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm. Due to the delicate nature of these pieces, postage is unavailable.

Important to know – minimum numbers

We require a minimum number of participants (2) for the workshop to proceed. If the class does not meet the minimum enrolment, we will contact you ahead of time to reschedule your booking or offer a full refund. We recommend booking early to secure your place and help the class go ahead as planned.
