A Scaffold Approach: Building Forms - 5 day Intensive

AUD $950.00
  • Duration: 5 Days (approx.)
  • Location: Kingston, ACT

Explore a variety of strategies for building structures in borosilicate glass. Mostly focusing on solid work, basic techniques for forming hollow objects will also be discussed and demonstrated. Emphasis will be placed on using small, simple motifs as units of larger more complex constructions.

Students will learn through skill-building exercises, techniques samples, slide shows and demonstrations. Expect to move through all stages of the construction of a piece from idea to sketch to finished object.
The basics of working from scale drawings on a kiln shelf to create flat forms which can be built up into three dimensional objects will be discussed in great detail. Building forms through scaffolding and bridging will also be addressed.
Ideas for constructing moving parts will be shared.
