Workshop dates and time: 5.30 pm to 8.00 pm, Mondays 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 March and 6, 13, 20 April 2020


This 20 hours workshop has been designed to step participants through the basics of kiln formed glass processes, materials, tools and equipment used. From week 1 to 3 there will be Project based Learning, where a different process or technique associated with kiln forming will be introduced weekly.  From week 4 to 8, participants will be asked to undertake some design work in preparation for the workshop. Kiln firing schedules will be explained and handed out each week. Some cold working techniques will be covered as well. Students will have some design freedom within each project. Bullseye glass will be used throughout the course.


The course fee includes teaching fees and all materials, tools and equipment for the first three weeks. From week 4 to 8, materials and equipment use will be dependant on individual projects and pursuits. While all students will be assigned a basic material and equipment allowance per week, the teaching artist may request that you purchase additional materials or hire additional equipment in order to complete your project. 


Age requirement: You must be at least 16 years old to participate in this workshop.
