Glass Blowing 2: Continuing

AUD $850.00
  • Duration: 2 Days (approx.)
  • Location: Kingston, ACT

With the basics under your belt, it’s time to explore what glass blowing can really do! Taught by Rob Schwartz.

What to expect
This workshop will develop and hone the simple skills developed in Glass Blowing 1. Participants are encouraged to design their own simple forms and use colour applications to extend their range of skills in hot glass blowing.

What to bring
Please bring a water bottle and your enthusiasm! This class has a break for lunch, you may bring your own or purchase lunch locally. It gets hot in the hotshop, we recommend you wear light layers for this course. You must wear fully closed shoes, natural fabric clothing, preferably non-synthetics, long hair pulled back. You must wear your prescription glasses over contact lenses. All materials and safety equipment for this class will be provided.

What you will make
A whole range of objects! This class develops the skills learned already and works to make jugs, bowls and other designs you and your class may want to explore. Most participants walk away with a few different objects depending on the size and complexity of what they make. Unfortunately, when beginning to learn how to work with glass there can be breakages during the annealing process, and we cannot promise that everything made will be safe for you to take home.

Your works made in glass will be available to collect 48hrs after the workshop is complete during our opening hours Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm from the Gallery Shop. If you are unable to collect your work, please add postage when you book and provide your address and postage details through the booking form or email our team at lilith.silva@canberraglassworks.com

Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm with a break for lunch
