Join renowned glass artist Denise Pepper for an intensive four-day masterclass on the exquisite art of Pâte de Verre. Designed for artists and professionals, this workshop delves deeply into the techniques of Pâte de Verre, from its historical context to the mastery of mould creation and colour application. Participants will be guided through the process of creating vibrant bases and finishing their works, progressing from fundamental concepts to advanced techniques.


Bursary Assistance
Canberra Glassworks is offering financial assistance to two artists to help bridge the financial gap. As
part of this Masterclass, Canberra Glassworks and ArtsNational are offering a
full bursary to two students. This bursary can only be granted towards the
course fee. The successful candidates are required to present about the
experience at the ArtsNational AGM in December.  Bursary applications are due 18 August 2024.

Denise Pepper is a Perth based artist and has had a professional career since graduating at ECU Mt Lawley in 2006.  Pepper's art practice intertwines sophisticated Glass Art with large scale sculptures and elegant detailed art pieces. 

Denise Pepper has developed a highly crafted set of skills to construct an imaginative fusion of ideas and materials.  Her art considers craftsmanship in the fabrication of lace and embroidery by translating this textiles-based research into unique art, delicate and complex and unapologetically decorative.  Fundamentally a glass artist, Pepper regularly exhibit in public sculpture exhibitions experimenting with diverse materials such as copper and acrylic plastics.
