Neon Projects

In this immersive two-day workshop, you’ll work closely with master neon craftsman David Cooper to create your very own bent neon sign, approximately A3-sized. You’ll learn the traditional craft of neon making - from heating and stretching glass tubes to shaping them into smooth curves and precise forms. Throughout the course, you’ll gain hands-on experience with every step of the neon production process, including bending, assembling, and filling your piece with neon gas, which produces a vibrant red glow.

By the end of the workshop, your custom-designed neon sign will be fully completed and ready to illuminate your space. You’ll also receive a detailed care guide and a transformer to safely power your artwork at home. Whether you’re an artist, maker, or simply curious about this unique craft, this workshop offers a rare opportunity to bring your ideas to life through the captivating art of neon.

What to bring

Please bring a water bottle and your enthusiasm! This class includes a break for lunch on both days - please bring your own or purchase lunch locally. You must wear fully closed shoes, natural fabric clothing, preferably non-synthetics, with long hair pulled back. You must wear your prescription glasses over contact lenses. All materials and safety equipment for this class will be provided. 

What you will make
You’ll create one bent neon sign, about A3 in size, which will be filled with neon gas to glow bright red and be ready to take home at the end of the workshop. You’ll also receive a care guide and a transformer to safely power your new neon artwork.

David Cooper a highly experienced neon artist and sign maker with over three decades of owning and operating his own neon sign business. With a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field, David brings a unique blend of warmth, talent, and extraordinary teaching abilities to his craft.  

Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 4pm with a break for lunch
